Expectations and Values - What are they good for?





 

1. What are expectations and values? Use a dictionary to define each word. REP, Respect, Exellence And
Persevarance.



2. Why do we have expectations and values in our classroom, school and community? So the community
can see that Casebrook is a school that can follow expectations and values.



3. What are some of the expectations in your classroom? Respect and encourage each other, Be
welcoming, humorous and have good vibes.



4. How do your classroom expectations influence your learning? The enviorment that you learn in can
effect the standard of the work so if everyone has good vibes everyone can focus and have fun.



5. What would your classroom be like if you had no expectations and you could
do whatever you wanted? A dump yard and fortnite central.



6. If you could make an expectation for your class what would it be and why? Everyone have fun, because
if everyone has fun it can be an easy time at school.



7. What are your school values? How are they displayed in your classroom and at your
school? Respect, Exellance, Persavarnce.



8. How do you get recognised for displaying your school values? Rep cards.



9. How do you think your school values link to your learning in your classroom? They link because you
have to respect everyone.



10. What are your family values and why are they important? If you don't have any come
up with some - what would be important values in your family and why? Don't talk back to my parents.

Blogger Prompt - Week 10, Term 1, 2018

Your Success - Who is responsible?



This week is all about ‘not giving up’.  

We are almost at the end of term one and we thought this was the perfect time to chat about what to do when things get hard!

Watch the videos before answering the prompts. They may help develop your thinking around having the ‘courage to continue’.



1. "Failures open the doors to success!" Tell us about a time when you failed with something? I jumped into the shower and I almost cut my open.



2. Tell us about a time when you had success? What did you do to achieve success? I made the Canterbury rugby squad.



3. We are responsible for our own success and learning. Do you agree or disagree and why? I agree that I need to take responsibilty for my learning because if I don't it could affect me in the future.



4. What is a challenge you have faced this year? Explain what happened. Choosing what grade I want to play in Rugby.



5. There's no such thing as an overnight success. What does this mean? Do you agree and why? Nothing will happen overnight you have to work hard for something you want.


6. Why do we give up? What can we do to avoid giving up in the future? Who can help us? Robots.



7. "If you do what is easy, your life will be hard." What is this trying to tell us? If you just do all the easy stuff all the hard stuff will come later.



8. Inner confidence and self-belief are the keys to success. Do you agree or disagree and why? I agree because if you belive in yourself you can do anything.

Blogger Prompt - Week 7, Term 1, 2018

NZ Census


Roll call! This year is a Census year. A census is a big question form that gathers lots of information about all the people in New Zealand. The census only happens every 5 years. It is a snapshot of the New Zealand population on one night every five years and is compulsory to complete.

Q1: What is your favourite subject at school and why? I like PE because I like being outside being active.




Q2: Do you have any pets? What are they and what are their names? If you don't have a pet what pet would you have if you did? I would like to have a pug named Tobias.




Q3: What are some of your favourite foods? Sushi, Butter Chicken, Smoothies.




Q4: What is your favourite sport? What do you like about it?

My favourite is Rugby because it is a contact sport and it gives me something to do on a saturday morning.

Rugby, Sport.





Q6: Who do you live with? Mum, Dad, Sister.



Q7: What is your ethnicity? NZ European.




Q8: The Census video talks about finding out if there are enough parks. Do you have a park in your suburb? Do you think your suburb needs a park or a better park? What would make it better? Yes i have a park in my suburb it is Sheldon Park.






Q9: Why do you think the government does a Census every 5 years? So everyone has a good life to look foward to when they come home.

How Are You Going To Be More Awesome In 2018?

Q1. How are you going to be more awesome in your learning

this year? Making everything to high standard
in allthe work that i do.



Q2. What is one thing you will do to make this year great?
Give everything a good good go.



Q3. What are you looking forward to most this year and why?
I am looking foward to Athletics and Cross Country because i really want
to beat my placing in Cross Country and get into zones for Athletics.



Q4. Describe your current learning environment. It's great in RM 9
i love the learning enviorment.


Q5. What do you need to work on this year? What are your goals?
How are you going to achieve them? I am going to get fitter
so i can pase myself and get a better placing



Q6. What are the things that drive your learning? That if i work hard
now i can get a better job later in life
What are the things that block your learning? When people
are shouting it find it hard to focus on what i am doing.

What does this mean to you as a learner? It means i got
to get started with my learning now because iwill pay off in the future

DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP

With the advent of social media, mobile devices in the classroom and a range of e-learning tools in the classroom it is more important than ever that students are aware of the long term effects of leaving their digital footprint and learn to become good cyber citizens. 
The concept of digital citizenship needs to be embedded in all aspects of work in schools with e-learning tools.
A good way to start this is to build awareness of what it means to be a good citizen in our community -  local, national and global. 
So what is a good citizen?

Q2.  How can we encourage more children to learn to code? Will you get involved in the #hourofcode? No i don't like coding

Q3.  Who teaches you about staying safe online? Parents - Teachers

Q5.  What is a digital footprint and why are they important? Watch this video to help with your answer. 
Q6.  What are some important things to consider when taking part in Blogger? Only post things that are Nice

Q7.  Should schools be using social media in the classroom and why? Yes  because these days everyone is on devices

Q8.  How do we know which websites and people to trust online? People that we know

  2. How do you get to learn about your interests in the classroom? Give us an example. Genius Hour 
  3. Do you think it's important for children to have time each week to learn about something that they're interested in? Why? Yes because then they wanna learn because there intrested in the topic. 
  4. What is the world's most important invention so far? How does it affect your life? the worlds most important invention was WIFI
  5. The Kid President wanted to invent a Catuum Cleaner. What would you like to invent to make the world more awesome? Robots to clean up rubbish 
  6. The top 10 jobs in 2017 didn't exist in 2007. What jobs do you think there will be in 10 years time? Robot makers, Flying car makers
  7. Inventive thinking requires taking risks, being curious and thinking skills. How do you do this in the classroom? Going with an idea i think will work well
  8. Is creativity important? How can we encourage creativity in the classroom? Make them Come up with an idea and make something about that idea

                  1) Do you think that technology will be a big part of our lives in the future? Why, Yes Because These days all kids are on some sort of Device.

                  2) Will technology disappear? yes, no, why? Yes, I think it will Disappear one day.
                  3) How do you use technology already in your life? Gaming, Social life.

                  4) Research what the first digital device that was made it and when it was built? In the US, John Vincent Atanasoff and Clifford E.
